Meta Launches Meta One Subscription Suite For Creators, Power Users And Businesses

Date:

Meta is expanding its subscription business with the launch of Meta One, a new suite of paid features designed for creators, power users and businesses across Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.

The tech giant announced the new offering on Tuesday, introducing a range of subscription plans that give users access to additional tools and capabilities beyond those available through its free services. The plans include individual subscriptions for specific platforms as well as broader bundles aimed at users who rely heavily on Meta’s apps.

Among the single-product options are Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus, each priced at $3.99 per month. Meta is also introducing bundled plans for different types of users, with pricing starting at $7.99 per month for the Core plan and extending to $499 per month for the Max plan. Several plans sit between those price points, with Meta indicating that its subscription lineup could continue to evolve as the company learns more about what users are willing to pay for.

Helen Ma, Meta’s vice president of subscriptions, said the company’s research found that some users want more functionality than the standard free versions of its applications provide.

According to Ma, there are users who “want to do more” and are looking for specialized capabilities that are not necessarily practical to offer within applications designed to serve billions of people. The new subscription strategy is intended to address those demands by giving certain users access to more advanced tools.

For creators in particular, Meta is positioning Meta One as a way to bring together services that they may currently use across several different platforms. Professional creators often rely on separate tools for scheduling content, managing links, analyzing performance, storing files and using artificial intelligence features.

Meta says its new subscription suite is intended to consolidate some of those functions within the company’s own ecosystem. Ma described the offering as a way to replace what can be a fragmented collection of tools with a more unified set of experiences built around platforms that creators already use.

The creator-focused features include notifications related to views, customized fonts for direct messages and Stories, and the ability to schedule Stories up to 30 days in advance. Subscribers will also be able to add links to organic posts and Reels, giving creators additional ways to direct audiences toward external content and services.

Artificial intelligence will also play a significant role in Meta One. Subscribers will receive higher usage limits for certain AI-powered image and video creation and editing tools. The package will also include features such as Restyle and voice effects, adding more creative options for users producing content across Meta’s platforms.

Businesses are another major target for the new subscription offering. Meta says companies will be able to use tools such as its Business Agent to assist with customer service. The feature is part of a broader effort to provide businesses with additional capabilities through Meta’s platforms.

Despite the expansion of its paid offerings, Meta says subscriptions are not intended to replace its existing advertising-supported business model. The company continues to view its free services as the foundation of its platforms, and paying for Meta One will not remove advertisements from the user experience.

Ma emphasized that Meta remains committed to maintaining free experiences for creators. She also noted that the company has significantly more employees working on free creator products than on its subscription efforts.

The company’s subscription strategy is therefore being presented as an optional layer for users who want additional functionality rather than a replacement for features currently available without payment. Meta says users who see enough value in the additional tools can choose to subscribe, while those who prefer the existing free services can continue using them.

The launch of Meta One represents another step in Meta’s broader effort to build subscription-based revenue streams around its large family of social and messaging platforms. At the same time, the company is maintaining its traditional free, advertising-supported model as the central way users access Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.
