Rihanna brought her own take on power dressing to Paris this week, turning heads in a striking Tom Ford suit as she attended Céline Dion’s highly anticipated residency.
The Fenty founder arrived at Plenitude Arena to watch Dion perform during the singer’s 26-date Paris run, which marked her return to the stage after a six-year absence. Rihanna, 38, opted for a sophisticated yet daring ensemble, pairing a navy Tom Ford suit with a black lace bra and sleek accessories.
For the evening, Rihanna wore a navy silk double-breasted jacket featuring peak lapels, priced at $6,650, with matching high-waisted, wide-leg trousers costing $2,980. Rather than wearing a shirt underneath the blazer, she left the jacket open enough to reveal a black lace bra, giving the traditionally tailored look a more provocative edge.
She completed the outfit with Saint Laurent sunglasses and Amina Muaddi snakeskin pumps. Rihanna also carried a silver, sequin-fringed Lady Dior bag from Dior’s Cruise 2027 collection, adding another statement element to the ensemble.
The bag is part of a collection that has yet to officially reach stores and is expected to become available in October or November. A VIP attendee of the collection’s presentation previously reported that a floral-sequined Lady Dior bag from the same show carries a $22,000 price tag.
Rihanna’s jewelry further elevated the glamorous look. She wore her signature “Mom” ring, a 14-karat gold piece featuring two dozen diamonds, along with a large diamond pinkie ring and diamond earrings. A bold red lip completed her appearance.
Following Dion’s performance, Rihanna continued her evening in the French capital, heading to the Paris hotspot César.
The singer and entrepreneur was among several high-profile celebrities who have attended Dion’s performances during the opening weeks of her residency. Former first lady Michelle Obama, singer Shania Twain and Kim Kardashian have also been spotted at the Plenitude Arena for the concerts.
Dion launched her 26-date residency on Sept. 12, marking an emotional return to live performance after being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in 2022. The rare neurological autoimmune disorder can cause severe muscle stiffness and painful spasms and forced the singer to step away from performing for several years.
During the opening concert, the 58-year-old singer became emotional while performing her iconic 1997 ballad “My Heart Will Go On.” Addressing the audience, Dion said she had promised herself she would not cry, before explaining that she wanted to sing “for you, for me, for life.”
The emotional performance represented a major moment in Dion’s career as she returned to the stage in front of a live audience after years away.
Her residency wardrobe is also expected to make an impression throughout the run. Dion is performing in custom looks from major fashion houses including Dior, Schiaparelli, Givenchy, Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton and Alaïa. Her stage ensembles are complemented by elaborate Boucheron jewelry, adding a high-fashion dimension to the long-awaited concerts.
During another emotional moment in the opening show, Dion reflected on her relationship with her audience while performing her 1996 hit “Because You Loved Me.” She told the crowd, “If I may say so, I am everything I am because you loved me.”
The Paris residency places Dion back at the center of the live music world while also attracting some of the biggest names in entertainment and fashion. Rihanna’s appearance added another star-powered moment to the opening weeks of the run, with her bold Tom Ford look becoming a fashion highlight of the night.
Dion’s Paris residency is scheduled to continue through May 29, 2027.
